Really like the 360 camera and turn signal cameras. Love that you can get any trim with 8 passengers which you can't do with Toyota. Not a fan of the front passenger area design from a functionality standpoint. It looks nicer and more modern but the Toyota and Honda designs give you more functional front areas in terms of being able to stash stuff with the Honda's open area and the Toyota bridge consol. I'd trade style for function with the front area if I had the choice. Also wish Kia hadn't gone towards that touch design for the front climate controls and had kept things simple. Some features like speaking to roll down the windows are gimmicks.

I used to prefer naturally aspirated (still do for V8/V10/V12 engines), but ever since I bought my Veloster N and gotten to enjoy BMW's B58/S58 engines, I prefer turbo-charged for smaller displacement and daily usabilty.

I’m old enough to remember when turbos, like you girls mentioned, were reserved for the top-trim performance variants like 300ZX Turbo, 911 Turbo, etc. And nowadays they’re being used by almost every automaker to boost performance on smaller displacement econoboxes. Have times changed 😅

Turbo!, I’ve had 3 WRX’s I now have a Stinger, my wife has the Turbo diesel Sportage and my daughter has the turbo i30.

Turbo purpose - is similar to super-charging. Essentially you are making that engine process more volume - and it simulates via that processing to have the similar volume to a much larger displacement engine not having the air pushed in to process more "combustion". The downside is that more parts and so on - effectively HEAT as a byproduct of compressing all that work in a smaller package and you are running that engine at a faster rpm - to get that mix of more torque and horsepower from that smaller displacement. Coking in the old days was a big problem as oil had not matured enough back in the day. MPG when the turbo is athletically used more is "effectively" processing more combustion one could look at it as working (hp and torque) as much as a larger displacement BUT you get the fuel penalty of a larger engine as well - again mpg is that volume of air and fuel going in the front.

Putting the 2.5L turbo in the Santa Cruz, but not the Tuscon or Sportage, is the poster child for brain dead marketing. Just like pulling the 2.0L turbo out of the Kona. Nothing like chasing away your loyal customers to your competition. 💯🤡💩👺🤑💰💥🤮

The upside for a turbo charged passenger car is this. A turbo charged engine can develop higher amounts of torque at moderate RPM's than a naturally aspirated engine. This is very helpful in normal daily driving. The driver will not have to depress the accelerator pedal down as far when driving up a hill on a highway for example. The engine developes more power because the turbo boost pressure will be increased as the engine management system senses the increased load while climbing the hill. This makes for a very enjoyable driving experience. The downside is that starting from a stop is a bit slower until the turbo spools up and the boost begins to occur. Noticeable Boost occurs at about 1800 RPM. I currently own a 2017 Tucson Sport with a turbo charged engine and it is an excellent cruising vehicle for the above mentioned reasons. It will cruise along with traffic on any type of road at low RPM's. The seven speed transmission will always have a proper gear to select for the demand of the road. I only have to make minor throttle adjustments to ride along with traffic.

My K5 is turbo. My buddy recently got the new 2025 naturally aspirated and I could definitely tell the difference when driving their car.

Show me a Turbo that lasts as long as a NA engine. I keep cars for 10 years plus, so I vote Natural.
